The Barbies Are Going to Be Traveling Europe

I have started taking the Barbies with me on our trips out into
Germany sight seeing... They are wonderful ambassadors!

So in that spirit when we rented a little convertible this weekend, and went to Wiesbaden shopping, two of the girls went along. These two dolls represent one of my grand-daughters Gabby, and a beautiful little friend from church whose name is Princess! I think it is just so kool to be named Princess in real life. The real Princess of course is much prettier than my Barbie Doll, so is my grand-daughter Gabby! However the dolls made new friends at the Wiesbaden PX and commissary. It was back to school weekend here Germany, and there was face painting, balloon fun, and all kinds of other booths at the PX. As I said, the girls and I had great fun... even my husband Randy was amused and entertained by the interactions we had!

It Is Getting Time to Put Up the Summer Clothes

Summer is coming to an end at the Doll Barn, so it is time to pack up the summer clothes! The Austin County Rodeo is coming up soon, and all the girls are going to ride in the wagon in the parade. Pictures on October 10th! So I must get outfits ready for each of them... They all want boots...

Michaela Layne

I would like to introduce my newest doll, Michaela Layne. This grand-daughter has dark brown hair and eyes, (as soon as I perfect a hair dying technique, so will the doll.) Michaela Layne is a very good student and loves school, and enjoys academic competitions. She also loves music. Camping and fishing with her dad, her brother, and her cousins is a another fun activity. She also enjoys fashion, and shopping and hanging out with her mom! Her little brother Maddox is one of her favorite people!

Some of the Barbies at the Doll Barn are for Collectors!

One of my favorite collections at the Doll Barn is my I Love Lucy Dolls. They are beautifully crafted, and dressed in matching costumes from some of the best episodes. They are as collectors call them, NBRFB, (never been removed from the box.)

These dolls have “real” eyelashes instead of the “painted on” kind, which add to their exquisiteness.

These beautiful dolls remind me of times past, when television was different, and laughter at slapstick was highly entertaining. The good old Rowdy Yates days.

What is a Barbie Barn?

Welcome! I am delighted to have you drop by my doll world site! This site is all about my little Barbie Doll world created for children everywhere, those who are still children at heart, and all those who love dolls and miniatures. This delightful retreat I made for myself and our grand-children was born as the result of my husband and I desiring to make a place for our grand-children especially Gabby and Samantha, who are presently with their family in Germany. They have always been the children of a military family. We have not seen them in two years, and this represents a great sacrifice for all of our family. Children of military families have always been required to make sacrifices for our country, but those sacrifices have been very great during the last eleven years. May we never forget!

We have eight other grand-children whom we love just as much, and this little world is for them as well.

We have found there are two things that are universal in need for those serving in the military, honorable leadership, and care of their families. Soldiers will always put their own needs last, but the needs of their families are where their heart is. We have a another son-in-law who was seriously wounded in Iraq in 2003, and he can no longer serve. Our son Jared has also served as a contractor electrician in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and his children as well endured hardship while their dad was gone.

There is fishing and canoeing, horses, a petting zoo, a pool and hot tub, little cabins for our family and friends to stay in when they visit, a playground with tree houses, gardens, and all kinds of wildlife in the 13 acre woods.

Of course there is the Barbie Barn too! All of my grand-daughters love the barn, and even our grand-sons too, because what Barbie isn't interested in a GI Joe, so there are a couple of companies worth of them as well.
